Iconeek is proud to introduce here a fine and rare, attractive, 18K yellow gold, manual winding, chronograph wristwatch with day, date, month and moon phases, the Tri-Compax Ref. 12551, by Universal Genève.

The model comes with a three-body construction: an 18K solid gold round shaped case with lapidated downturned triangular lugs, rectangular chronograph pushers in the band, a snap on gold inclined bezel, a snap on gold case back. Under the plexiglass, we find a silvered dial with painted Arabic numerals,  an outer minute and second division with 5-minute radial Arabic numerals, four subsidiary dials, for the date combined with moon phases at 12, the 30-minute register at 3, the 12-hour register at 6, the constant second at 9, two apertures for day of the week at 10 and for the month at 2, gold Feuille hands, blued steel chronograph hands, an outer blue  tachymeter scale. Inside ticks a caliber 287, gilt finish, mechanical, manual winding, with straight line lever escapement, self-compensating blued steel Breguet balance spring, monometallic balance with timing screws, index regulator, column-wheel chronograph mechanism.  The size between the lugs is 20 mm. Dial, case and movement are signed.

The Tri-Compax UG is still one of the best and most sought after vintage triple calendar chronograph wristwatch !

Condition: 7.5/10, in good overall condition, some signs of wear in places, in working condition, dial slightly oxydized on the edges, otherwise charming and natural patina with time.
